The decision to use bar soap or liquid soap is a personal choice. Why? This is because both soaps have their advantages and their disadvantages. Knowing which is better will be based on knowing the pros and cons of these types of soap this is because both soaps serves the same purpose cleansing dirt from the skin. Both soaps are made up of the same essential elements which are alkali, salt of fatty acids and detergents which is called surfactant.
Pros of bar soap:
- Bar soaps are quite cheaper than liquid soaps.
- There are lots of fragrance free bar soaps flooded in the market for sensitive skin
Cons of bar soap:
- Bar soaps tend to leave a scaly effect behind
- These soaps tend to be harsh and can damage and dehydrate the skin. This makes the skin very dry.
- Skin could be easily affected with bacteria if bar soaps is shared by many people.
Now let's get to that of the liquid soap.
Pros of liquid soap:
- Liquid soaps has moisturizer based component in them which tends to retain the water content in the skin.
- It doesn't leave a scaly effect on skin.
- Liquid soap lather well irrespective of the type of water used. Liquid soap's lather are richer.
Cons of liquid soap:
- Liquid soaps are more costly than bar soaps
- There is the tendacy of wastage when it comes to liquid soap.
- There are few fragrance free liquid soaps in the market. This tend to be a problem for sensitive skin people.
